Foster is a STEM-designated business program with deep ties to Seattle’s tech and finance ecosystem. The UW Investment Group manages a real $50,000 fund. Montlake Consulting Group works with Fortune 500 clients. Top employers include Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Boeing, Costco, and Starbucks.

• UW Investment Group — $50,000 Student-Managed Fund

  UW’s leading undergraduate investment club. Students manage a $50,000 fund with real capital. Members receive comprehensive analyst training in investment thesis development, financial modeling, and pitch deck preparation. Stock pitch presentations to the club are the entry point to fund participation. Mission: equip students for equity research, portfolio management, and finance careers. Formerly UWFA. • MKTG 445 / MGMT 445 — Consulting Course (Winter Quarter)

  Hands-on consulting course offered in Winter Quarter. Students work in teams managing projects for real clients, guided by Accenture, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and Microsoft/Amazon/Boeing industry experts. Completing this course makes students eligible for paid summer internships with the CBDC. Only offered in Winter — register during Period 1 in November. • Consulting & Business Development Center (CBDC) Summer Internship

  Paid $22/hour, 10-week, 40 hrs/week consulting summer internship for students who have completed MKTG/MGMT 445. Students work directly with small businesses and professional mentors from Accenture, Deloitte, and EY. One of the most direct paths to consulting experience at UW. Foster maintains relationships with dozens of employers who run pre-internship and leadership development programs specifically for first- and second-year students. These programs are the most direct way to build employer relationships before formal recruiting opens.

• JP Morgan Launching Leaders & BA Early Advantage Program

  JP Morgan runs two programs for Foster students: Launching Leaders (one-day program for sophomores/juniors) and BA Early Advantage Program (pre-internship program for freshmen/sophomores).   The winter consulting course guided by Accenture and Deloitte professionals is also the best case interview preparation at Foster — working through real client problems under advisor scrutiny is better prep than textbook frameworks alone. Complete the course before consulting interviews.
